Richard Qian - Beijing, China/Brookfield, WI

My name is Richard Qian. I am from Brookfield, WI, but I'm originally from Beijing, China. I am a freshman with the intended majors of economics and computer science. Because I started a similar club in my high school, my friend Brian and I thought it's a good idea to bring awareness of table tennis to UW-Madison as well. I have been playing table tennis for more than 10 years. I have received training in China for two and half years. I am looking forward to meet all of table tennis enthusiasts this year.

Brian Hibler - Brookfield, WI

My name is Brian Hibler, and I am from Brookfield, WI. I am majoring in Chemistry, with medical school a consideration of mine. Richard and I started a similar table tennis club at our high school, and we were surprised when we saw that the University of Wisconsin-Madison didn't already have a club. We figured with such a large university there would be plenty of interested in a table tennis club, and we were right. I have been playing table tennis for five years now, but most of that was recreational until last year. I look forward to teaching and competing with all new members this year!

Kurt Peter - Brookfield, WI

Hello, my name is Kurt Peter. I am a freshman here at UW-Madison. I have lived in Brookfield for my whole life and my dad got a ping-pong table back when I was in 7th grade. I never really took it seriously until I started to beat my dad by a lot and realized I was pretty good. I have brought what I know about table tennis to this club to hopefully help out learning players and myself. I am excited for this inaugural year and want to see improvements throughout our table tennis players.

Patrick Baranowski - Franklin, WI

I'm a Freshman here at Madison. I am looking to hopefully get into the School of Pharmacy if my grades are descent and get a minor in food consumption. As for table tennis, I play casually and am always looking for a person to lose to. But I always try to improve and always have a good time doing so. I hope that this year will be a successful one for the club and it starts off with a good first season.

Tony Nguyen - Brookfield, WI

Hola fellow ping pong enthusiasts! My name is Tony Nguyen and I am a freshman majoring in Chemistry, with a certificate in Archaeology and table tennis studies. I became a ping pong enthusiast after seeing Kurt Peter's awesome Stiga Elite table. After many unsucessful attempts at beating him, I eventually got a table. Now I can beat him once or twice a year....a huge improvment. I love table tennis because I enjoy playing it and it relaxes me unlike tennis. I hope to share my joys of the sport with you through the club.

Andrew Knips - St. Paul, MN

About eight years ago, I started playing competitive table tennis in Minnesota, playing for the Minnesota Junior Team. Since then, I have travelled around the country, playing in state tournaments, the Junior Olympics, and a number of national tournaments. I have also coached a number of players in the Madison area. I enjoy promoting table tennis (even though it is one of the most popular sports in the world) and hope to play and coach the sport until I die from a rare neurological disorder known only to coastal regions of Southern Peru. In addition to pong, I love to compete: from tennis to Scrabble to badminton to horseshoes.

James Campbell - Madison, WI

I have been playing recreational table tennis since I was very young with family and friends, and began taking it more serious last year, where I helped start a table tennis club at my high school. I have already learned a great deal and have immensely improved my skills in my first semester with the club, and I hope to continue improving and help others learn and improve as well.

Tsung-Rey (Richard) Huang - Taiwan

I played some competitive table tennis in elementary school and junior high school, and now trying to pick it up again in college. Table tennis is one of the best sports and I really love it. My biggest wish is to make people enjoy table tennis as well.
